This document provides instructions for preparing a cold caustic solution. It involves adding lye to a container, pouring boiling water into the container, then allowing the solution to cool before transferring it to a spray bottle. Safety precautions like wearing protective gear are recommended due to the caustic nature of the chemicals. The end result is a homemade caustic spray for future use.

2. 1.1 Materials Ready

3. 1.2 Small Cheap Organization
Container

4. 1.3 Coca Cola bottle Necks cut and
placed in box

5. 1.4 Aluminum pasta pan

6. 1.5 Complete bottom section of
pasta pan removed

7. 1.6 Cut sheet of aluminum into
squares

8. 1.7 Put on Safety Gear
Vinyl Gloves / Respirator / Goggles

9. 1.8 Measure 1/3rd
of a cup of lye
and pour into the container

10. 1.9 Sprinkle lye evenly in the
container

11. 1.10 Align lid to minimize splashing while
pouring. Fill your NEW spray bottle with
(ideally) Distilled water. Pour 32 fluid ounces
into your electric kettle and turn the kettle on.

12. 1.12 Pour boiling hot 212 degree
water into the container

13. 1.13 Close the NON airtight lid and place a
weight on the lid. Begin to ventilate the room if
you are inside. This will release caustic fumes

14. 1.14 Caustic Liquid becomes hot
and boils

15. 1.15 Caustic liquid cools to room
temperature

16. 1.16 Cut an inch off of the bottom
tube of the sprayer

17. 1.17 Remove lid off of container

18. 1.18 Set the funnel into the sprayer

19. 1.19 Pour the liquid contents into
the 32 ounce sprayer
and secure the lid

20. 1.20 Label your sprayer for safety

21. 1.21 Wash out the container and
funnel for safe storage

22. 1.22 Label the supplies for future
use
