Studies on development of fuel briquettes for household and industrial purposeSAT Journals
Abstract The hike in the price of electricity, petrol and diesel for daily usage has directed the researches for alternate fuels. But unfortunately recession and climatic changes has increased all the expenses. This makes a tough situation for the production of alternate fuels at low cost. Among several methods fuel briquetting is widely used using municipal waste, vegetable waste, newspaper waste etc. The present investigation is carried out using Almond leaves, saw dust and cocopeat. Using proximate analysis the moisture content, ash content, volatile matter and the fixed carbon are determined. The briquette sample size is fixed as 6 x 3 x 3 inches. The binding material used is plain flour in the proportion of 125 g per each briquette. The study incorporated the determination of calorific value, porosity , ultimate analysis, XRD, SEM analysis. The results indicated that the almond leaf briquette with higher compressive strength burns more time and is safer for storage and transportation. Stabilization and characterization of heavy crude oil in-watereSAT Journals
Abstract There has been much interest in alternative to transport viscous crude oil from reservoir which is much more abundant than conventional oil. There are many authors hard to find the stable of oil-in-water (o/w) emulsion condition which has been considered as critical analysis. In order to reduce the viscosity, the heavy oil is required to modify for reducing their viscosity. Applying diluent and forming o/w emulsion are the selected as alternative for reducing viscosity. The purpose for this investigation is to study factors that influencing stability and viscosity of o/w emulsion. From the observation, o/w emulsions reduced almost six (6) times less than original heavy oil. However, the addition of 40% of light oil reduced oil viscosity from 478.10 mPa.sto 113.40 mPa.s. Thus, the knowledge and understanding factors that influencing the stability and viscosity of o/w emulsion is important due to avoiding of occurring phase inversion phenomena. Study and comparison of various communication based protective relaying schem...eSAT Journals
Abstract The relay communication system is the heart of the protective scheme. The independent operation of the relays scheme for the protection of transmission line is not adequate in some cases where the time delay to clear faults beyond the zone1 reach for distance relays may be considered unacceptable. The need for additional intelligence in the protection of some transmission lines arises due to the failing of Distance protection. As the future may see more global the protection designs also require high-bandwidth communications in order to achieve the required speed. In this paper there is the study and comparison of various communication based protective relaying schemes which utilize a communications path to send signals from the relaying system at one end of the line to that at the other end. Abstract Generating electricity from wind has been centered around the rotation rotating windmill in which rotating shaft coupled to the generator used to generate electricity. Other sources such as solar power hydropower, thermal power, wind power are used for generating electricity in kilo watts and megawatt but there is no such kind of application which can generate electricity on sub 100watt scale. So as to generate electricity on small scale and to provide cheap source of energy for lighting the houses in remote where there is no other sources are available. And to generate a power source that can be constructed with the help of local material and if problem occurs that can be fixed by the local people. About 2% of global electricity production comes from wind-powered generators. Their capacity has doubled in the past few years. In some countries it is more popular than solar energy because it is cheaper on a cost per watt basis. However, for powering small devices there has been minimal activity to harvest energy from the wind. This is because conventional electromagnetic wind turbines require rotating fins and gearing which adds bulk, and they become less efficient when scaled down.
