The Lotherton Class Charter outlines students' rights to feel safe, have their existing knowledge built upon by teachers, build relationships with teachers, work and learn with others, be challenged, and take breaks. It also outlines students' responsibilities to act safely, share what they know to help teachers, build strong relationships by listening and trying their best, work with different people, take on learning challenges, and take breaks at appropriate times.

1. Lotherton Class Charter
We have the right to:
· feel physically safe in our a class.
· have a teacher who looks at what we know
and builds our learning from there.
· a teacher who is keen to build a relationship
with us, as a strong relationship will mean
that we will aim to please and our teacher
will look to inspire us.
· work and learn with lots of people.
· be given learning that will challenge us to do
our best.
· be given opportunities, to recharge our
brains to help us learn, such as: playtime,
water and toilet breaks.
We have the responsibility to:
· make sure we act safely
· share with the teacher what we know
to help them
· build a strong relationship with our
teacher by listening, following
instructions and trying our best.
· Show that we can work with different
people and value their skills and
opinions

2. Lotherton Class Charter
· take on a learning challenge, even
though at first we may feel worried
that we cannot do it.
· take toilet and water breaks at a
sensible time during the day and not
when teacher is talking to the whole
class.
