Civil asset forfeiture allows police to seize and keep cash, cars, and other property from people who are never charged with a wrongdoing. While most agree this raises the risk of corruption, it also funds law enforcement. Some argue cash itself cannot commit a crime and this practice should end to prevent abuse of citizens' rights.
