World Toilet Organization created World Toilet Day
to raise global awareness of the struggle 2.6
billion face every day without access to proper,
clean sanitation.
WTD brings to the forefront the health, emotional
and psychological consequences the poor endure
as a result of inadequate sanitation.
3. World Toilet Organization
Founder
Jack Sim is the founder of the Restroom
Association of Singapore and World Toilet
Organization.
At the age of 40, as a businessman, he attained
financial independence, and decided to devote
the rest of his life to social work.
4. World Toilet College
Establishedin 2005, the World Toilet
College (WTC) started as a social
enterprise to establish an independent
world body to ensure the best practices
and standards in Toilet Design, Cleanliness,
and Sanitation Technologies are adopted
and disseminated through training.

6. World Toilet day
In 2001, the World Toilet Organization
declared its founding day, 19
November, as World Toilet Day.
In September 2009, a new website was
launched dedicated to the celebration of
World Toilet Day.
Today it is celebrated in over 19 countries
with over 51 events being hosted by
various water and sanitation advocates.
7. World Toilet Summit
Itis an organized event that brings
together non-profit
organizations, government
bodies, academia and other industry
players to address the sanitation crisis that
affects 2.6 billion people globally.

is a social franchise model whereby
WTO provides a quality brand free of
charge to entrepreneurial thinking people
on the ground.
