Swedish Radio has undergone a digital transformation while maintaining its core values of being independent, trusted, and open-minded. It has three pillars of broadcasting: terrestrial broadcasting in Sweden, IP-based production for web and mobile, and social media. Terrestrial broadcasting still reaches 7 million listeners but will need to transition to DAB+ to remain relevant in Europe. The focus in recent years has been on developing the second pillar of IP-based production for digital platforms. This includes growing the audience for podcasts and using social media like Facebook. Swedish Radio aims to integrate programming across platforms to share content broadly while upholding its role in democratic society.
