3. Kolbrun’s Confirmation
Confirmation
This year our lovely
Kolbrún was confirmed.
She is now a hardcore
Christian like the rest of
us. She was confirmed
in our small church in
Reyðarfjörður and the
service was interesting
as everything in our
family is but it was none
the less lovely.
4. 3rd place
Eva placed third in this
years Glíma (Icelandic
wrestling) competition
which was held in
Ísasfjörður. Here you
can see her standing
next to the champian
as well as the first lady
of Iceland. On the far
left is Ólafur Ragnar
Grímsson who was
reelected as president
this year.
5. Fastest in the country
Kolbrún competed for the first
time in Skólahreysti, an Icelandic
competition were the schools of
the country compete in strength
and agility. Although her team
placed 5th in the competition for
east Iceland and were not able
to make it to the finale it was
completely the boys faults as
Kolbrún had the fastest female
time in the country and her
teammate Arna had the most
points in her category.
6. Hotdog
This is a picture of
Kolbrún in a hotdog
suit for öskudag, the
Icelandic equivalent
of Halloween. Not
much more can be
said about this
picture.
7. Diving!
Guðrún María went
to Thailand this
summer and got
her diving license.
She now frolics with
fish, whales, sharks
and mermaids in
her spare time.
8. Abu Dhabi
María also went
to Abu Dhabi
were she fully
immersed herself
into the culture
and now has a
husband who is a
devout Muslim.
10. Hiking
This picture was
taken in
Dalatanga. This
was one of many
hiking trips. Among
the trips was a
week long hiking
adventure in the
west fjords this
summer.
11. National Costume
This year Eva is on her 2nd
year of menntaskóla. At
her school is a tradition
where for one day, all of
the students on their 2nd
year, wear the Icelandic
national costume. They
then travel around
Reykjavík singing and
dancing.
12. Madeira
Kolbrún and
Ella decided to
take a trip to
Madeira in
Portugal with
Ella´s mom,
leaving the rest
of the family on
the ice block in
the Atlantic
ocean to
freeze their
butts off.
13. Hunting
Jói went hunting as
he does every year
with Dögg. Together
they brought home
16 ptarmigan. Next
year he will have two
dogs to take hunting
because….
14. New Mom
Dögg became a mom this year and brought into the
world 7 new puppies.
