Christopher Richard Jones was born on October 25, 2010 in Bristol, UK weighing 7lb 14oz. He was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare congenital heart defect. After waiting 10 days, Christopher underwent his first open-heart surgery called the Norwood procedure to reconstruct his left side of the heart at just 10 days old, which took 10 hours. In the following days, Christopher made progress breathing on his own and being transferred to a different hospital as his condition improved.
