Wei
Xiong
is
originally
from
Beijing,
China.
He
received
his
B.S.
from
Peking
University
in
2006
before
he
moved
to
the
U.S.
He
got
his
PhD
degree
from
University
of
Wisconsin,
Madison,
in
2011,
under
the
supervision
of
Prof.
Martin
Zanni.
Wei
has
developed
novel
2D
IR
techniques
and
applied
them
to
different
scientific
problems.
Recently,
he
developed
heterodyned
shaper-‐based
time
domain
SFG
spectroscopy
and
the
world's
first
heterodyned
2D
SFG
spectrometer.
He
looks
forward
to
using
this
technique
on
systems
such
as
materials
and
surface
peptides.
Wei
is
currently
a
postdoctoral
researcher
in
the
Kaptyen-‐Murnane
research
lab
at
the
University
of
Colorado
in
Boulder,
CO.
His
new
research
area
includes
developing
a
table-‐top
transient
soft
x-‐ray
spectrometer
and
applying
it
to
both
gas
and
liquid
phase
samples.
Wei
loves
outdoor
activities
and
photography.
He
has
traveled
to
several
National
Parks
and
is
also
a
good
sailor
and
windsurfer.
He
is
now
developing
new
hobbies
such
as
hiking.
