strenuous too, pls make sure you are wearing sturdy walking shoes preferably water proof, rain coat and

more oxygen in body which make you easily acclimatize with altitude. Pony/Palki are also available at Janki

Day 03: Badkot/Syanna/Janki Chatti-Yamunotri -Barkot{36kms drive & 6kms Trek (oneside)} HT : 3235 MTS.
After breakfast, set out on amorning drive about 20 kms up toJankichatti. Furtheron, travelapprox. 6 km on foot for
trek/Pony/Doli to Yamunotri. Here you can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot waterof thekund(hot
waterspring). Pilgrims take this cooked rice homeas a"Prasad". Near thetemple "Pooja" can be offered at Divyashilla, after
taking bath in JamunabaiKund's warm waterandpaying tributeto"Yamunaji". Afteroffering prayers at the shrine, return to
Janki Chatti, and further back toBarkot. Return toyour hotel/Camps in Badkot and spendthenight.
Sight Seeing :
Yamunotri Temple:MaharaniGulariaof Jaipur built the templein the 19th Century. It was destroyedtwicein the present
century and rebuilt again.
Surya Kund: Thereare a Numberof thermalsprings in the vicinity of the temple, which flows intonumerous pools. Themost
important of these is Surya Kund.
Divya Shila: Arock pillar, worshipped before enteringthe Yamunotri Temple.

7. Day 04: Barkot –Uttarkashi (120kms/5hr) HT :1352MTS.
Meditation/Yoga session at morning (at your own) and the time at leisure till late breakfast, at 09:00 a.m drive
to Uttar kashi (Kashi of North)and a centre of NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) Nag Devta temple &
cave another attraction enroute. Check in at hotel.
Sight Seeing : Today you can visit Nag Devta & Gufa, Vishwanath temple & Shakti temple
(Note: Pls prepare a small knapsackfor next day excursion toGangotri carrying one woollen cloth/Jacket & personal

Vishwanath temple -Vishwanath temple is oneofthe oldestShiva temples in Northern India.Re-constructed in1857by

Shakti temple -Rightin frontofthe Vishwanath temple is Shakti temple.Ithas a big‘Trishul’ ofabout6meters in
heightand a circumference of90 cms. atbottom. Though thereare differentviews aboutthe makingofthis, the upper
8. partof itseems to be made up ofiron and the loweroneis ofcopper. As per the epics this Shakti was thrown onthe
devils by the Goddess Durga(Shakti), hence itgets its name. Since thenthis Shaktiis erectedover here

beautiful Harsil Valley.Harsil is famous for its naturebeauty andfor the majesticviews ofthe Deodar trees, and

origin. PerformPooja and Darshan, after thatrelax for sometime in the lovely surroundings. Returnback to Uttarkashi.

Day 06: Uttarkashi –Guptkashi / Rampur /Sitapur / Gaurikund(220kms/8-9hr) HT : 1319MTS.
Drive straight toGuptkashiviaMoolgarh & Lambgoan. Enrouteyou can see the beautifulriver Mandakiniat Tilwara. The
Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river toreach Guptakashi. On arrival check in at the
Hotel/Tents/Huts/Cottage.

The name GuptKashi means "HiddenBenares. Mythology describes how when thePandavabrothers were searching for a
glimpse of Shiva, Lord Shankar first concealed himself at Gupt Kashi, but laterfled from them furtherup thevalley to

pandas (hereditary pilgrimage priests) live in Gupt Kashiduring the wintermonths, andafterthe Kedarnath templecloses for

personal medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes for an overnighthaltatKedarnath. Check in Hotel.Join
evening aarti at Kedarnath Temple. After darshanreturnfor dinner and nightstay.
Kedarnath: TheKedarnath shrine, one ofthe 12jyotirlingas ofLord Shiva, is a scenicspotsituated, againstthe
backdropofthe majesticKedarnath range.Kedaris anothername ofLordShiva, the protector andthe destroyer.
Accordingto legend, the Pandavas after havingwon overthe Kauravain the Kurukshetrawar, feltguilty ofhaving
