The document compares the characters of Steve, played by Seb Perrier, and Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln from The Walking Dead. Both characters exist in post-apocalyptic environments and have several similarities, including being located in wooded areas for safety, having a distant stare to observe their surroundings, surviving as part of a small group, and carrying bags and facial hair out of necessity. Differences between the characters include Rick being dirtier and more armed, wearing more practical clothing and boots, and carrying his bag in a more secure manner that allows for movement.

2. Characters
• The character/person that I chosen to
compare with our main character Steve, who
is played by Seb, is Rick Grimes, who is played
by Andrew Lincoln. Rick is the series The
Walking Dead. I chose this character because
they both in post apocalyptic environments.

3. Similarities
• On reason why I chose to compare these
characters was due to the location that both of
the characters are in. From the picture you can
see that they are both in a woody location. This is
because the cities/towns would have been more
heavily effected so there monkey would less
chance for people to survive. On top of this if the
towns and cities were ok then there would be
more people there looking for shelter and
supplies. This would cause a problem these
people may be hostile and could cause problems
for the characters.

4. Similarities
• Another similarity between these two characters
is that they have a distant stare. This stare could
be because they are observing the surroundings
as they are in dangerous and hostile surroundings
so they need to be on the look out.
• A big similarity is that they are both survivors and
both part of a small group of the population that
has managed to survive the events that lead to
these harsh conditions. Both of these characters
has found what it takes to survive.

5. Similarities
• A typical item that people in Steve's/Ricks
situation would be a bag. People that have
survived are likely to carry a bag with them so
they can carry more items that they find on their
travels. Typical items would be things like food.
• A final similarity is that they have both have facial
hair. This could be because they don’t have the
time to focus on shaving as they have more
important priorities and bigger problems to face.

6. Differences
• The first difference between these two characters is
the cleanliness of them. Steve is a lot cleaner
compared to Rick. This could be because Rick is in
more hostile environment so he has less time to clean
and the terrain is harsher so he will get dirtier.
• Another difference between the two main characters is
that Rick is armed with a revolver and a knife so that if
he were to come across a hostile then he would be
able to defend himself. If you compare him to Steve,
who is unarmed, then Rick is a lot more prepared for
this kind of life.

7. Differences
• The next difference is the clothing that they are
wearing, Steve seems to be far more prepared for
bad/cold weather and whereas Rick is wearing a
shirt and jeans so he is less prepared for harsher
weather. Steve is also wearing wellington boots
which would be good for mud and water but not
good for things like snow or for hard terrain. His
footwear will also make it harder for him to
run, comparing this to what Rick is wearing it is
not as sensible as rick, as he is wearing proper
boots and this would be better overall for all
terrain.

8. Differences
• The final difference between the two characters
is the way that hold the bag. This may seem like a
small difference but in a hostile environment it
could play a big part. The way Rick is holding it
would be far better as it is held securely across
his body meaning that if he were to have to run
or fight then it wouldn’t get in the way. The way
that Steve is holding it would mean that if he had
to run or fight then he would either have to drop
it and leave it behind or he would keep propping
it up onto his shoulder.
