A person's mother filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2010 and was discharged. Prior to the bankruptcy, the mother co-signed for a car loan for the person that had a maturity date of March 2010. The person still owes $2500 on the car loan and has been making regular payments, but is concerned the lender may repossess the car due to the mother's bankruptcy.
