2. ACADEMIC PROJECT WORK:
PROJECT #1
Synopsis:
As part of Diploma, done a study project on NATIONAL THERMAL POWER PROJECT at
VISAKHAPATANAM for a period of 60days and made a brief report of it.
Description:
In this project, the operation and control of various power systems and parameters are
analysed and realized at NTPC. Detailed descriptions about coal handling and accessories,
boilers, switch yard, etc have been extensively covered in the project.
We’ve managed to successfully complete the project with flying colours and within
stipulated time at an elaborate level.
PROJECT #2
Synopsis:
As part of B-Tech, done an academic project on SIMULATION OF REAL AND REACTIVE
POWER FLOW CONTROL WITH UPFC CONNNECTED TO A TRANSMISSION LINE for a
period of 60days and made a complete documented report of it.
Description:
The development of the modern power system has led to an increasing complexity in the
study of power systems, and also presents new challenges to power system stability, and in
particular, to the aspects of transient stability and small-signal stability.
This project investigates the improvement of transient stability of a two-area power
system, using UPFC which is an effective FACTS device capable of controlling the active and
reactive power flows in a transmission line by controlling appropriately its series and shunt
parameters.
