certification indicates professional achievement in the premier field of communications.
Keep your identification card with you. It indicates your certifications, your certification number
and when your certification active listing expires.
Your renewal will help fund FOA activities in important areas like education, standards and
promotion of fiber optics. It also allows us to continually update our website and publish our
monthly online newsletter. If your certification lapses for a period of more than three years, you
may be required to retest to return to active status.

includes many technical reference materials on basic fiber optics and new technologies

advanced certifications. These advanced certifications are the pinnacle of achievement in fiber
optics. If you are interested in advanced certifications, go to the FOA website and download a
FOA logbook to keep track of your experience.
