Cerebral aneurysm is a dilation of the walls of a weakened cerebral artery that can lead to rupture. Symptoms of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm include headache, pain, vision changes, nausea, weakness on one side of the body, neck stiffness, irritability, and seizures. Treatment involves maintaining an open airway, administering oxygen, monitoring for high blood pressure or heart rhythm issues, avoiding rectal temperatures, keeping the patient on bed rest in a dim, quiet room with few visitors and restrictions on fluids and stimulants.
