Create large 50s per class, each with a different theme/color to use for another activity
Bring in photos of parents/family members from 1968 to create either a school wide collage or slideshow. Can also be used for another activity.
Make a list of compare and contrasts between 1968-2018 (political, technological, historical, social, etc.)
This should be a project done in every history class.
Students cutout hands and place their name and one positive aspect they love about their school. Then they put it on the tree.
Place it under the tree or a plaque that is beneath the tree. Don’t open until the next 50 years go by. Include some of the mementos or even videos of how this anniversary was celebrated, including letters and pictures that students bring in.
Have students interview teachers who also graduated from the school. Include these in some of the other events, slideshows, and the time capsule.

Set up rooms that represent the different decades the school has been around (include pop-culture, style, school events, historical events, local events, etc.) and a walk through gallery of photos using some of the old family photos that were sent in and photos of the school, area and yearbook photos through out the fifty years.
Have everything be in a fifty theme. Have multiple games, and food that can be eaten. Make it a community event, not just a school event.

Have classes or groups select an era to focus on. Or have one large flash mob of all who want to participate and do dances from 1968-2018.

Have alumni, faculty and prestigious people from the community be included in this event. Have some speakers, slideshow, music. Include stories from the past, what has been accomplished by the school to date and the future plans of the school.
