Collaborative
Regulation Committee (CCRC)
Purpose
The Child Care Collaborative Regulation Committee
(CCRC) convenes bi-weekly to proactively address
regulatory matters and systematically respond to early
childhood professional questions concerning the health and
safety of Kentucky’s children.
The CCRC is led by the Division of Child Care and
composed of representatives from the Division of Regulated
Child Care, Child Care Aware, and Child Care Health
Consultants of the Department for Public Health.

Goals and Objective
The CCRC’s goal is to improve the statewide understanding of
child care administrative regulations by adopting, implementing,
and communicating a uniform enforcement of child care
administrative regulations.

Technical Assistance
The CCRC provides technical assistance tip sheets, forms, and
resources to coordinators, surveyors, counselors, consultants,
training agencies, and providers.

Technical Assistance Tools
Partnered with Child Care Aware of Kentucky in creating three

  • #9 Developed and successfully implemented the Getting Started in Child Care Program- A Consultation service which streamlines the application process for potential providers and assures that child care centers are opening at higher standard of care than in the past. Due to the success of the Getting Started in Child Care program the committee followed that up one year later with a Renewal Program for child care providers. This program uses the Technical assistant coordinators working directly with provider to assure the application are completed and submitted as required. In addition the technical assistant coordinators conduct walk through surveys and provides assistance with preparing the corrective action for the renewal. Proactively collaborated with Division of Regulated Child Care to provided director forums in each ADD to discuss upcoming regulations changes.
