People search various questions, phrases or words. But some words and phrases are searched
more often than others.
For example, the words, ‘running shoes’ are searched more often than ‘best road running
shoes for men’
These words or phrases which people use to search on Google are called Keywords.
Some keywords are searched more often than others. Number of times a keyword is searched
for in a month is called keyword volume.
Some keywords have more relevant results than others. For the phrase “running shoes” we
get more than 80M relevant results, whereas for “best road running shoes for men” we get
only 8.
The former keyword ‘running shoes’ has way more competition from popular websites to
new and small blogs, whereas the latter keyword doesn’t have that much competition. This
search competition for a keyword is called search difficulty of a keyword or keyword
difficulty.
In other words, if the keyword difficulty is ‘low’ or ‘easy’, there won’t be any competition
and if you target such keywords on your site, you can easily rank on the front page of Google.

These keywords which are searched just to know about stuff are called informational

Conversion funnel is the journey that search visitors go through on their way to an email
subscription or a premium subscription to the services you offer or a purchase of products
you sell or recommend using your referral link.
For some buyers, research is the most important part when they have to buy a product.
Depending on that, their journey either widens or narrows down. These types of buyers are
Researchers and they spend more time with informational keywords.
Conversion is the action you want from your search visitors. Number of conversions that you
get for every 100 search visitors is called Conversion rate.

A GIFT FROM NATURE
The green leaves of the betel palm grow at heights of
up to 25 metres above the ground. Once they lose
their natural moisture and dry out almost complete-
ly, they fall to the ground on their own and can then
be processed further. Any overexploitation is pre-
vented in a natural way, because the green leaves
still contain too much moisture and would quickly
develop mould. Instead of leaving the fallen leaves
to wither and rot on the ground, they are now
shaped into superb disposable tableware.
Palm leaf products are ovenproof, food-safe and
grease- and heat-resistant – all without any addition-
al coatings or the need for any additives. The dispos-
able tableware produced in this way remains 100 per-
cent biodegradable. The particularly elegant style is
also the work of nature: since each palm leaf has its
own uniquely elegant pattern of veins, any product
made from it, is a uniquely stylish one-of-a-kind item.
The betel palm is grown in mixed culture, which
preserves the soils. The natural palm leaf produc-
tion in a small village in south-west India is carried
out under audited, fair conditions and meets high
social standards (certified to SA 8000). With the
processing taking place locally, the inhabitants of
an entire region can use their own resources to
build up a lasting livelihood for themselves. Our
palm leaf products are also certified according to
EN 13432 and since 2015 according to Nordic Swan
Ecolabeling No. 5047 0009.

Our appetite for sweet things is now also compati-
ble with nature: the sugar cane juicing process pro-
duces large quantities of fibres – a residual materi-
al that has previously remained unused. And yet
this biomass is extremely valuable for the produc-
tion of natural disposable tableware and packa
ging. Sugar cane fibres can be used to make stylish
products with outstanding properties: tableware
made from sugar cane is lightweight but still very
robust. At the same time it is water resistant, suita-
ble for cold and hot foods and can be used in mi-
crowave, oven and freezer. With a bio-lamination
that creates a stronger grease and water barrier, the
sugar-cane bowls become sealable and can be
closed not only with lids but also with a peelable
film in naturesse quality. This sustainable full solu-
tion expands the range of applications for sugar
cane to the take-away sector, for instance. Produc-
tion of the 100 percent biodegradable sugar cane
range takes place close to the source of the raw
materials, which protects the environment addi-
tionally by keeping transportation routes to a mini-
mum. Our wide range of sugar cane products is
available in light brown and white.

cane can optionally be bio-laminated, which
gives them additional advantages. Foods with
longer holding times, dressed salads, sauce-
based dishes and other juicy meals are no prob-
lem for these naturesse menu trays. They with-
stand the cold of the freezer as well as the heat
of the microwave or oven (see table of applica-
tions on page 9), meaning that they can also be
used to reheat food. As an integrated solution,

PLA products have nothing at all to do
with conventional plastic. Because instead of
using a finite resource, i.e. petroleum, they
are made from an inexhaustible resource:

The use of plastic is under fire. But we are talking
about conventional plastic, which is made from
petroleum or polyethylene and is not naturally
biodegradable. With the natural alternative, lactic
acid, plastic-like products can be manufactured
that not only have all the positive properties of
conventional plastics, but also offer valuable ad-
vantages such as complete biodegradability and
climate-friendly production. The 100 percent nat-
ural polylactides, commonly known as polylactic
acids or PLA for short, are gained through the fer-
mentation of carbohydrates – such as the starch
derived from fast-growing sugar cane. Soon we
will have the capabilities to produce PLA from
starch obtained solely from residues of nature.
Our PLA is transparent, sturdy and shatterproof.
It can also be moulded into almost any shape
and even used as a transparent film. Products
made of PLA are eminently suitable for cold
applications up to 45 °C and are lighter than
conventional materials – with no compromises in
terms of function and stability. And in total
harmony with nature.

CRYSTALLISING OUT THE
STRENGTHS
Sometimes a perfect product can be turned into
an even more perfect product by crystallising out
further benefits. This is the case with polylactic
acid (PLA), which is the raw material for CPLA
(crystallised polylactic acid). The crystallisation
process brings out further strengths of the natural
raw material: CPLA is perfect for warm applica-
tions and can withstand temperatures up to 85 °C,
making it ideal for coffee cups, for example. The
material also becomes more rigid, which makes it
possible, among other things, to produce ex-
tremely robust cutlery. Crystallisation makes the
CPLA naturally milky in colour. With the addition
of colour, the naturesse range of cutlery can also
be supplied in beige or black, which underscores
the aesthetics. CPLA is also pleasantly natural to
the touch. Pure PLA is used in the naturesse CPLA
products – no mixed compounds are used. The
raw material base is guaranteed GMO-free and is
processed into 100 percent biodegradable, stylish
products without the addition of petroleum.

all depends on where the cellulose comes from.
For the production of the 100 percent biodegrada-
ble naturesse cardboard range, our manufacturers
use cellulose from FSC®
-certified forests and from
controlled sources. The FSC®
label is a clear indica-
tion that the product originates from responsible
forestry and so ensures the protection of plants,
animals, ecosystems, soils and landscapes. An
additional PLA layer, such as that used in our
paper cups, also makes the products heat and
moisture resistant. In addition to their natural aes-
thetics, the wood, cardboard and paper products
are also custom-printable and offer great freedom

72. Bamboo
THE GRASSES OF THE FUTURE
The saying “Trees don’t grow into the sky” sug-
gests that all good things come to an end. Bam-
boo, however, begs to differ. Certain types of
bamboo can easily grow half a metre in a single
day – a height that trees would only reach after
many months. Once the bamboo has been cut,
these grasses soon grow back again all by them-
selves. Bamboo needs no pesticides, no chemi-
cal fertilisers and no artificial irrigation to
achieve its tremendous growth. All this is reason
enough to make natural take-away tableware
out of it – tree-free. The cellulose of the bamboo
fibres can be used to produce very sturdy card-
board that meets all take-away requirements. It
has a light, brownish colour by nature. The deli-
cate surface can be perfectly printed and is also
a delight to the eye. The type of bamboo used is
Moso, i.e. not the staple food of pandas, mean-
ing that their habitat is left intact. The diverse
range is 100 percent biodegradable and cli-
mate-friendly.

naturesse use no conventional plastic at all.
Instead they are made from natural vegetable
oil and vegetable starch (Mater-Bi). The
tear-resistant bag range can even be disposed
of via the household compost.

SHOPPING BAGS WITH
A SECONDARY USE
A lot of conventional plastic is still used for shop-
ping. The semi-transparent shopping bags that
have been the norm in retail up to now are made
from petroleum and normally end up in the waste.
Both aspects – bags made with a problematic re-
source and waste generation – are unnecessary
thanks to the ideas of nature and the innovations
of naturesse. The naturesse bags, pouches and
films are made of a material called Mater-Bi, which
is nothing other than a starch blend on the basis
of vegetable oil and vegetable starch. And the re-
sult is also strong: the solutions produced from
Mater-Bi are tear-resistant, very robust and also
breathable. As natural products, they return to
nature again after use. All naturesse bags are cer-
tified to EN 13432 and may be disposed of in the
household compost without a second thought.
This way, a shopping bag can have a second lease
of life as a garden waste bag.
