Start By:
a. Remove the travel motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Travel Motor - Remove".
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior
of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the
internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform
disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all
times.

1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to head assembly (2).
2. Remove bolts (1).
3. Remove housing assembly (2).
5. Remove valve (4).

6. Remove O-ring seals (5).
Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring
pressure.
Spring force will be released when covers are removed.
Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
8. Remove valve (7), plug (8), and the O-ring seal.
10. Remove spring (10) and spool (11).

11. Remove plug (12) and the O-ring seal.
12. Remove plug (13).

13. Remove cover (14).
15. Remove cover (15).

16. Remove spring (17).
17. Remove bushing (18).

18. Remove O-ring seals (19).
19. Remove O-ring seal (20).
20. Use Tooling (E) in order to remove retaining ring (21).

Note: Record the distance from the locknut to the end of the screw for installation purposes.
22. Remove screw (23) and dowel (24).

24. Remove bushing (27) and spring (26).
25. Remove cap (28).

27. Remove relief valve (30).
28. Repeat Steps 25 through 27 for the opposite side.
29. Remove O-ring seals (31), O-ring seal (32), and O-ring seal (33).
30. Remove bolt (34), the piston, and the setscrew.

31. Remove plate (36).
32. Remove pin (35) and spool (37).
33. Remove cap (38), the locknut, and the screw.
Note: Measure the distance between the nut and the end of the set screw for installation
purposes.

36. Remove barrel (41) from the piston assembly.
37. Remove O-ring seal (42) from housing (43).
38. Remove spring (44) and washer (45) from barrel (41).
39. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (46).

40. Remove shim (47).
41. Use Tooling (C) in order to remove seal (48).
42. Use a suitable press in order to remove rotor assembly (49).

44. Remove pistons (51), center pin (53), and retainer plate (52).
45. Remove rings (54) from pistons (51).

46. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (55).
47. Remove shim (56).
48. Place the rotor assembly in a suitable press. Use Tooling (D) in order to remove shaft (57)
from bearing (58), shim (59), and bearing (60).

1. Raise the temperature of bearing (58) and bearing (60).
2. Lower the temperature of shaft (57).
3. Install bearing (60), shim (59), and bearing (58) onto shaft (57).
4. Install shim (56).
5. Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (55).
6. Install rings (54) onto piston (51).

7. Install pistons (51), center pin (53), and retainer plate (52).
8. Install bolts (50).
9. Install rotor assembly (49).

10. Install seal (48).
11. Install shim (47).
12. Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (46).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure
and wear protective equipment.
13. Install washer (45) and spring (44) into barrel (41).
14. Install barrel (41) into the piston assembly.
15. Install O-ring seal (42) into housing (43).

16. Install plug (40) and the O-ring seal.
18. Install cap (38), the locknut, and the screw into the original position.
19. Install pin (35) and spool (37).
20. Install plate (36).

21. Install the piston, the setscrew, and bolt (34).
22. Install O-ring seals (31), O-ring seal (32), and O-ring seal (33).
23. Install relief valve (30).

25. Install cap (28).
26. Repeat Steps 23 through 25 on the opposite side.
