start by:
a) remove front wheels
1. Install the lock pin in the wheel lean bar and the front axle. Remove the nut, washer and bolt (1)
that hold the lock in position. Remove the lock.

3. 2. Remove bolt (2), the washer and the retainer. Remove the pin from the wheel lean cylinder. Do
not remove the pin from the wheel lean arm. Start the engine. Move the cylinder rod into the wheel
lean cylinder. Shut off the engine.
3. Remove the cotter pin from the steering tie rod pin. Loosen nut (3) until it is even with the end of
the steering tie rod pin. Hit the nut with a hammer to loosen the pin from its taper. Move the steering
tie rod away from the wheel spindle housing.
4. Repeat Step 3 for steering cylinder (4).
5. Remove the plug from the top and the bottom of the wheel lean arm with tooling (A). Remove the
nuts, washers and bolts (5).
6. Fasten a hoist to the wheel spindle housing. Remove the pins from the wheel spindle housing and
the wheel lean arm with tooling (B).
7. Remove wheel spindle and wheel spindle housing (8). Weight is 415 lb. (187 kg). Remove thrust
pack (6) from the wheel lean arm. Remove the O-ring seals and seals (7) from the wheel spindle
housing.
8. Remove the bearings from the wheel lean arm.
9. Repeat Steps 1 through 8 for the other wheel spindle and wheel spindle housing.

4. 1. Install the bearings in wheel lean arm (1) with tooling (A). Install the bearings even with the
surface that is toward the center of the wheel lean arm.
NOTICE
Tooling (A) must be used when the bearings are installed to prevent
causing damage.

5. 2. Install new O-ring seals and new seals in the top and the bottom of wheel spindle housing (2).
Fasten a hoist to the housing. Put it in position on the wheel lean arm. Install the thrust pack between
wheel spindle housing (2) and wheel lean arm (1) at the upper junction.
3. Lower the temperature of the two pins that hold the wheel spindle housing to the wheel lean arm.
Install pins (3) with tooling (B). Make sure the groove in the pin is in alignment with the opening in
the wheel spindle housing.
4. Install the bolts, washers and nuts (6) that hold the pins to the wheel spindle housing. Install the
plugs in the wheel lean arm with tooling (C).
5. Start the engine. Move the wheel lean cylinder rod into position over the pin that holds the
cylinder rod to the wheel lean arm and the wheel lean bar. Install the pin in the cylinder rod. Install
the bolt, washer and the retainer on the end of the pin.
6. Install the lock, nut, washer and bolt (4). Tighten the bolt to a t torque of 185 ± 10 lb.ft. (254 ± 14
N·m). Remove the lockpin from the wheel lean bar and the front axle.

6. 7. Put steering tie rod (5) in position in the wheel spindle housing. Install the nut on the pin. Tighten
the nut to a torque of 90 lb.ft. (120 N·m). Always tighten the nut to put the groove (slot) in
alignment with the hole in the pin. Install the cotter pin.
8. Put the steering cylinder in position in the wheel spindle housing. Install the nut on the pin.
Tighten the nut to a torque of 100 ± 10 lb.ft. (135 ± 14 N·m). Always tighten the nut to put the
groove (slot) in alignment with the hole in the pin. Install the cotter pin.
9. Repeat Steps 1 through 8 for the other wheel spindle and wheel spindle housing.

9. 1. Install the two seals in the front axle with tooling (A). Install the seals so the lip is even with
and toward the inner surface of the front axle.
2. Install bearings (1) in the front axle with tooling (B). Install the bearings so they just make
contact with the seals.
NOTICE
Tooling (B) must be used when the bearings are installed to prevent
causing damage.
3. Fasten a hoist to wheel lean arm (2). Put it in position on the front axle.
4. Install pin (4) in the front axle and the wheel lean arm. Make sure the groove in pin (4) is in
alignment with the opening in the wheel lean arm.
5. Install the pin in the wheel lean bar and the wheel lean arm. Shims must be used between the
pin and retainer (3) to give a .030 in. (0.76 mm) minimum gap between retainer (3) and the wheel
lean bar. Make sure the groove in the pin is in alignment with the opening in the wheel lean arm.

10. 6. Put lock (5) in position in the pin and the wheel lean arm. Install the nut, washer and bolt (6)
that hold the lock. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 515 ± 20 lb.ft. (700 ± 25 N·m).
7. Install the plugs in the wheel lean arm with tooling (C).
8. Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for the other wheel lean arm.

12. 2. Lift the front of the machine enough to get the weight off the axle. Install tooling (A) as
supports under the front axle near each wheel.
3. Fasten tooling (B) to both wheel lean arms and the frame.
4. Remove the nuts, washers and bolts (1) and (5). Remove the lock from the wheel lean arm.
Remove bolts (2) and (4) and the retainers from the pins. Remove pins (6) and (8) from the wheel
lean bar.
Do not remove the pins from the wheel lean arm.
5. Remove the lock pin from the wheel lean bar and the front axle.
6. Fasten a hoist to wheel lean bar (7). Remove wheel lean bar (7). Weight is 55 lb. (25 kg).
7. Remove the seals and bearings from each end of the wheel lean bar with tooling (C).

Tooling (B) must be used to install the bearings to prevent damage.
3. Install another new seal in each end of the wheel lean bar with tooling (A). Install the seal with
the lip toward the outside and even with the outside surface of the wheel lean bar.
4. Fasten a hoist to wheel lean bar (1). Put it in position on the machine. Install the lock pin in the
wheel lean bar and the front axle.
5. Put the wheel lean arms in alignment with the wheel lean bar. Install pins (2) and (3) in the
wheel lean bar. Make sure the groove in the pins is in alignment with the groove in the wheel lean
arms. Install the lock, bolt, washer and nut in each wheel lean arm and pin. Tighten the bolts to a
torque of 185 ± 10 lb.ft. (254 ± 14 N·m).
6. Install the retainers and the bolts that hold the retainers to pins (2) and (3). Shims must be used
between the retainers and the pins to give a .030 in. (0.76 mm) gap between the retainer and the
wheel lean bar.
7. Remove tooling (C). Lift the machine enough to remove tooling (D). Lower the machine to the
ground.

Wheel Lean Cylinder

Remove Wheel Lean Cylinder
1. Install the lock pin in the wheel lean bar and the front axle.
Do not disconnect any lines from the wheel lean cylinder until the
lockpin is installed.
2. Disconnect oil lines (2) from the cylinder. Remove the nut and bolt (4). Remove the lock from the
groove in the wheel lean arm. Remove bolt (3) and the retainer. Remove bolts (1) and the lock.
3. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder.
4. Remove pin (7) from the wheel lean cylinder.

16. Do not remove the pin from the wheel lean arm.
5. Remove pin (6). Remove wheel lean cylinder (5). Weight is 55 lb. (25 kg).
NOTE: See DISASSEMBLE AND ASSEMBLE HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS.
Install Wheel Lean Cylinder
1. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder. Put wheel lean cylinder (2) in position on the front axle. Install pin
(1) that holds the cylinder to the front axle. Install lock (5) and bolts (4).
2. Install pin (8) that holds the cylinder to the wheel lean arm. Install the lock in the pin. Install the
bolt and nut (3) that hold the lock. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 185 ± 10 lb.ft. (254 ± 14 N·m).
3. Install retainer (7) and the bolt on pin (8). Connect oil lines (6) to their correct locations on the
cylinder. Remove the lock pin from the wheel lean bar and the front axle.

start by:
a) remove wheel lean bar
b) remove steering tie rod
c) remove front wheels
1. Lift the front of the machine off the ground. Install tooling (A) under the circle drawbar.

18. 2. Disconnect oil lines (1) from the steering cylinders. Disconnect oil lines (2) from the wheel lean
cylinder.
3. Remove the bolts and nuts (3) and (4) that hold the pins to the front axle and the frame.
4. Fasten a hoist to the front axle.
5. Remove pins (5) and (7) from the front axle and the frame. Remove the washers.
6. Remove front axle (6). Weight is 1220 lb. (549 kg).
7. Remove seals (8) and the bearings from the front axle with tooling (B).
Install Front Axle

20. 1. Install four new bearings (1) in the front axle with tooling (B). Install the bearings .282 ± .016
in. (7.16 ± 0.4 mm) from each surface of the axle.
NOTICE
Tooling (B) must be used when the bearings are installed to prevent
damage.
2. Install four new seals (2) in the front axle with tooling (C). Install the seals with the lip toward
the outside surface and even with the outside surface of the front axle.

21. 4. Install the front pin and washer (4). Install the rear pin and washer (5). Make sure the holes in
the pins are in alignment with the holes in the frame. Install the bolts and the nuts that hold the
pins to the frame and the front axle.
5. Connect oil lines (6) to the steering cylinders. Connect oil lines (7) to the wheel lean cylinder.

Blade Lift Cylinders

Remove Blade Lift Cylinders
1. Lower the blade to the ground. Put identification on the oil lines as to their location. Remove oil
lines (2) from the cylinder.
2. Remove bolts (4) that hold the cap and the insert to the rod end of the cylinder. Remove the cap
and the insert.
3. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder. Remove four bolts (3) that hold the caps to the blade lift arm.
4. Remove blade lift cylinder (1). Weight is 152 lb. (69 kg).
5. Remove caps (5) from the blade lift cylinder. Remove the bearings and seals (6) from the caps.
6. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for the other blade lift cylinder.
