Widehorizons provides outdoor adventure education to children and young people across the UK through its six centers. It believes all children should have opportunities for inspirational outdoor experiences. However, it does not receive government funding and relies on donations to continue its services. The Catch the Sun event is an adventure challenge that Widehorizons organizes to raise funds, where teams bike and canoe between centers over 30km in 10 hours. It aims to provide both an adventure for participants and funding to support outdoor education for many children.

We are so much more than just an ‘activity’

organisation - we are all about adventure.
Whether we are telling stories to two year olds at
our environmental centre in Kent, engaging with
the Sun
disaffected young people in London or teaching cliff
erosion with A-level students in Dorset, adventure is
the tool we use. We deliver real outdoor education
courses that engage children with their subject at
six centres around the UK.
We don’t receive any funding from the government
and rely on the generosity of our supporters and our
partner schools to keep our services going.
Taking on this challenge will give you an adventure
that you’ll remember for a long time and, most
importantly, through supporting us, you’ll be
providing many children and young people with their
very own adventure.
