Case Studies
The Client:

The Village of Jefferson, Ohio: a small town of approximately 3200
residents, and is the county seat of Ashtabula County.

The Situation:

As part of their Economic Development initiative, the Village of
Jefferson, Ohio commissioned Media Magic to produce a full-length
marketing video-“Jefferson, Ohio- Just Imagine!” The video,
designed to be distributed in the Village’s marking kit and on the
Village’s website, is designed to benefit potential businesses and
citizens, looking to relocate, by providing a visualization of
community assets, the quality of life, businesses, citizens and
schools. The video highlights all of the reasons the Village of
Jefferson is a great place to live, shop, work and raise a family.
The Jefferson Village Marketing DVD contains the video and
hyperlinks to the Jefferson Village website

The Strategy:

The video was shot by a 3-person camera crew, over the course of
four months, and utilized 10 hours of new video along with dozens
of hours of seasonal stock video footage, acquired from 2003-2006,
by Media Magic’s news operation, the Ashtabula County Newsnet.

The Result:

The finished video was showcased to the community at a news
conference organized through the Mayor’s office. Afterwards, the
promotional video received several favorable write-ups in the local
newspapers. The “Jefferson, Ohio- Just Imagine” DVD was
uploaded to the Village’s website, and then distributed to local and
regional media and prospective new residents in media kits
available at City Hall. Media Magic was later hired by the Village of
Jefferson and the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce for Public and
Media Relations work to further promote their marketing campaign
in the regional media.
