 Chhattisgarh may be a young state but is an ancient land. Situated in the heart of India,
 the state is endowed with a rich cultural heritage and attractive natural diversity.

 Tourism in Chhattisgarh

 The State is full of ancient monuments, rare
 wildlife, exquisitely carved temples, Buddhist
 sites, palaces, water falls, caves, rock
 paintings and hill plateaus. Tourism
 destinations of the state are in their natural
 state, untouched and unexplored and offer a
 unique and alternate experience to tourists
 when compared to traditional destinations.


                                              The tribal regions have its unique cultural
                                              and ecological identity, concentrated
                                              mainly in northern and southern parts of
                                              the state. The Green State of Chhattisgarh
                                              has 44% of its area under forests, and is
                                              one of the richest bio-diversity areas in the
                                              country. The state has immense tourism
                                              potential in various focus areas of tourism.

Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB) is the nodal agency for development of tourism

The road ahead

The tourism industry is undergoing sea changes in every aspect. Tourist profiles have
changed a lot. Travel patterns, number of people travelling together, frequency of
vacations are no longer the same. Choices of destination for Indian tourists have
opened up and variables that affect these choices are rapidly changing. Emerging
concepts of responsible and sustainable tourism practices have changed the way
businesses are conducted in tourism industry. Chhattisgarh tourism has been following
the strategy to keep up with developments in the industry and offer tourists a wow
experience.

To establish, promote and sustain Chhattisgarh as a niche tourism destination for
Indian tourist in various focus areas would require innovative and path breaking ideas.
Innovation in planning the offer, communication channels and delivery mec hanisms is
going to be the game changer in tourism industry. Yet at the same time feasibility and
practicality of these ideas would determine how successful the implementation is going
to be.

The opportunity

Develop a plan of action complete with a comprehensive marketing strategy to
establish, promote and sustain tourism in Chhattisgarh. The plan should focus not only
on strategy formulation but should be specific on implementation as well.

In doing so you are required to gather additional information if required and conduct
analyses to support your conclusions. Present your ideas in a power point presentation
in not more than 12 slides, excluding your cover slide and references. The ideas should
be your original; any material referenced should be duly mentioned in the standard
format.

Follow the rules and regulations strictly, mentioned in next section to avoid
disqualification.
RULES AND REGULATIONS




    Each team should have 3 members. All members should belong to the same
    institute. A person can be a member of only one team, but there is no limit on the
    number of teams from a college.
    Only full time MBA/PGDM students are allowed to participate.
    Each entry should have a cover slide mentioning team name, participants, e‐mail
    ids and mobile nos. of the team member(s) and the name of the institute they
    belong to.
    Last date of Registration and Submission is 28th Feb. 2012 before 17:59:59Hrs.
    The case deliverables have to be mailed “mantra@iimraipur.ac.in”. Participants
    shall receive an acknowledgement after mailing their entries.
    All the files mailed should follow the format casefiles12_<Team Name>_<College
    Name>
    The subject of the mail should be of the format casefiles12_<Team
    Name>_<College Name>
    Name of the participants, college name etc. should not be mentioned and
    nowhere else in the entire document. Failure to adhere to this clause will result in
    automatic disqualification.
    The submitted presentations would become property of CTB.
    The shortlisted teams will be invited on campus for subsequent rounds. The
    deliverables for next round would be mailed only to the shortlisted candidates.
