The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is one of two Welsh Corgi breeds originating in Wales. It is a herding dog breed that is on average 10-13 inches tall and weighs 30-38 pounds for males and 25-34 pounds for females. They have a long tail unlike the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and come in a variety of colors. Cardigans are highly intelligent, active dogs that make excellent companion animals as they are affectionate and devoted. Originally bred for herding, they also excel in dog sports and trials. They have a life expectancy of 12-16 years.
