But still the
replacement can be
done by self with the
proper information
and tools.
Follow the below
information to ensure a
safe replacement for
your
spark plugs:
Things to have
beforehand
Be sure to have the car's
owner manual and read
about the type of
spark plug and its
position in the car.
Buy the number of
spark plugs required to
be replaced from an
authorized shop so that
it is genuine and fits the
model.
Also have the number
of a good technician for
help, in case you get
stuck while doing the
replacement.
While going for the
replacement
Along with the spark
plug socket and a
screwdriver, try to
proceed in the following
manner to replace the
spark plugs.
Let the car engine to cool down
Never apply your hands
on a hot engine as it is
bad for both your hands
and the component of
the car.
If the engine is hot,
then it is hard to
unplug the spark plugs
from the aluminum
cylinder heads without
damaging the threads.
Allow the engine to
cool down for safe
removal of the spark
plugs without causing
any damage.
Clean the area around the spark plugs
Take the help of a
compressed air duster
to blow away the dust
and dirt particles
around the spark plugs.
While opening the
plugs and cleaning the
areas, take proper
precautions to not
allow any foreign
particles inside the
cylinder.
If any dirt particle gets
inside, then it directly
falls into the engine
and may result in
premature engine wear.
Screw the spark plugs straight
Avoid screwing the
spark plugs in an
inclined manner as it
will result in a ruined
thread.
To avoid inserting a
tilted plug, first rotate
them a bit by hand in
the hole and if you feel
it is getting tight too
early, then stop and
take it out.
This gives you an idea
of the process of
screwing and you can
fit the plug in a straight
manner in the second
attempt.
Do not hurry
Do not mix the wires
and your work by
trying to screw more
than one spark plug at
a time to complete it
faster.
Always play safe and
give full attention to a
single spark plug for
getting it screwed
straight and correct.

If you hurry, then
things will get messed
up and you have to
start over all again.
