The document expresses gratitude to God for blessings received in 2011 and discusses creating a masterpiece as a Christmas gift to offer this appreciation. It wishes everyone, especially the author's parents, a Merry Christmas and hopes the holiday spirit fills their hearts with joy and blessings from God.
DynusT is a Windows-based software that integrates with travel demand and microscopic simulation models to support applications requiring realistic traffic dynamics representation for large-scale regional or corridor networks. The document discusses DynusT's inputs such as node and link data from shapefiles, incident descriptions, and output files. It provides an example of running a simulation with an incident on a freeway segment, varying the incident duration and severity. The results show increased vehicle hours traveled and decreased speeds with more severe or longer incidents.
Line 14 of the Paris Métro is the first fully automated metro line in the world. It opened in 1998 with driverless trains controlled by a communications-based train control system. Key features include platform screen doors for safety, trains running every 85 seconds, and annual ridership growth of 12.3% since opening. Line 14 provides reliable service even during strikes as it has no drivers, demonstrating the benefits of automated metro systems.
This document discusses several key aspects of teaching English as a foreign language. It begins by defining different teaching methods and approaches, such as grammar translation, Total Physical Response (TPR), and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). It then discusses teaching techniques, classroom management strategies like feedback and time management, elements of lesson planning, factors like class size and seating arrangements, resources, classroom observation, and student motivation. The document provides an overview of considerations for planning and executing effective English language instruction.

The document discusses pavement structural characteristics as outlined in the AASHTO Guide for Design of Pavement Structures. It covers drainage, load transfer, and loss of support. Drainage is critical for pavement design and is influenced by sources of water infiltration. The structural number (SN) considers layer thicknesses and properties to represent pavement structure. Load transfer in rigid pavements is accounted for by the load transfer coefficient (J) which is improved by using dowel bars and tied shoulders.

Ephesoft + Alfresco: The best duo for your digitization process!Benjamin Chevallereau
This presentation describes one of our digitization process that we implemented using Alfresco and Ephesoft. This slideshow has been used for the Alfresco Summit 2014 in San Francisco.
Accessing the Alfresco repository from SharePoint is a big opportunity for some organizations who are looking to avoid to store everything in SharePoint and to centralize their documents in Alfresco. Taking the opportunity with the new version 1.1 of CMIS, we decided to build UI components on top of SharePoint using only common web technologies i.e. JS, HTML or CSS. The goal of these components is to be highly configurable and easy to customize depending of use cases.
P&G has significantly fewer social media fans than its brands and seeks to strengthen its brand association and increase sales through a new media marketing plan. The plan involves liking and following P&G brands on social media, creating video clips about P&G for social media, and a Google AdWords campaign for P&G's e-Saver program to drive subscriptions. The budget is $90,000 over one year with goals of increasing fans, clicks, and e-Saver subscriptions.
This document outlines the design of various units for a wastewater treatment plant including bar screens, grit chambers, Parshall flumes, primary clarifiers, aeration tanks, secondary clarifiers, chlorination tanks, anaerobic digesters, and drying beds to treat wastewater for a design population of 40,000 people over a 50 year period. Key design considerations and calculations are provided for each unit based on ten state standards and typical design parameters.
HLNT Engineers conducted a feasibility study for a potential commercial real estate development client in Hialeah, Florida. They used GIS to analyze queries related to population levels, percentage of Hispanic residents for communication purposes, vacancy rates, and median rental income. HLNT Engineers traveled to Hialeah and used GIS to examine traffic data layers for the surrounding area, including average daily traffic, road names, number of lanes, toll information and speed limits. They presented this information to the client to help inform decisions about developing the property from a traffic perspective.
Midwifery has a long history in the United States dating back to when midwives attended mostly poor women in their homes. In the late 1800s, childbirth shifted to a medical model with doctors attending more births. Midwifery continued to grow with the establishment of nurse-midwifery programs and practices. Today, midwives provide care in various settings like hospitals, birth centers, and homes and focus on empowering women throughout their lifespan, not just during birth. They promote natural childbirth and use interventions judiciously when needed.
Docking & Designing Small Molecules within Rosetta Code FrameworkGordon Lemmon
Gordon Howard Lemmon presented his doctoral dissertation on developing methods for docking and designing small molecules within the Rosetta software framework. He summarized structural biology concepts and introduced Rosetta software capabilities for protein modeling, ligand docking, and fragment-based ligand design. Lemmon described improving Rosetta's ability to predict HIV-1 protease and protease inhibitor binding affinities by optimizing score terms and accounting for the unbound state. The new RosettaLigand code allows multiple ligand docking, flexible ligand modeling using fragment rotamers, and fragment-based ligand design. Lemmon concluded that including interface waters can improve docking accuracy, especially in less crowded binding sites.
