The Cathedral Church of St. Peter is hosting a Canoeucharist event on September 24th at Ft. De Soto Park. Participants are invited to join at 2pm to go canoeing or kayaking in the mangrove bayous, or walk along the shore to pick up trash. The group will then come back by 3:30pm for a Eucharist service led by Reverend Canon Katie Churchwell. The event aims to explore the bayous while helping clean up trash along the way. Participants are asked to bring swimming gear, sun protection, and $12 for boat rentals.

Bring​:
Your​ ​friends,​ ​your​ ​sandals,​ ​your​ ​swimsuit,​ ​​ ​your​ ​sun
protection​ ​gear,​ ​a​ ​water​ ​bottle​ ​and​ ​$12.​ ​We’ll​ ​meet​ ​at​ ​the
parking​ ​lot​ ​across​ ​from​ ​the​ ​canoe​ ​rentals,​ ​next​ ​to​ ​shelter
12​ ​and​ ​the​ ​dog​ ​park.​ ​Please​ ​arrive​ ​at​ ​2:00pm.​ ​We’ll
launch​ ​the​ ​double​ ​canoes​ ​and​ ​kayaks​ ​by​ ​2:30.​ ​We’ll
share​ ​an​ ​hour​ ​exploring​ ​the​ ​mangrove​ ​bayous,​ ​picking
up​ ​trash​ ​along​ ​the​ ​way.​ ​An​ ​alternative​ ​to​ ​canoeing​ ​and
kayaking​ ​is​ ​walking​ ​the​ ​shore​ ​to​ ​pick​ ​up​ ​trash.​ ​We​ ​will
then​ ​return​ ​rental​ ​gear​ ​by​ ​3:30pm.​ ​The​ ​Eucharist​ ​service
led​ ​by​ ​the​ ​Reverend​ ​Canon​ ​Katie​ ​Churchwell​ ​will​ ​follow.
We’ll​ ​wrap​ ​up​ ​the​ ​afternoon​ ​between​ ​4:30​ ​and​ ​5:00pm.

This​ ​is​ ​an​ ​activity​ ​at​ ​the​ ​beach​ ​and​ ​on​ ​the​ ​bayou;​ ​please​ ​dress​ ​accordingly.​ ​Proper​ ​swimming​ ​apparel,
sun​ ​protection,​ ​and​ ​sandals​ ​with​ ​straps​ ​or​ ​boat​ ​shoes​ ​are​ ​recommended.​ ​Afternoon​ ​rain​ ​showers​ ​are
not​ ​uncommon​ ​during​ ​this​ ​time​ ​of​ ​year.​ ​We​ ​will​ ​adjust​ ​the​ ​schedule​ ​according​ ​to​ ​the​ ​weather.​ ​Your
