United Way supports people in need by providing food, mentoring programs, job training, childcare services, literacy programs, community support groups, recreational activities for children, counseling, immigrant services, homeless shelters, and other social services. These services help those struggling with hunger, lack of role models, unemployment, disabilities, poverty, family crises, and other challenges feel empowered, independent, and part of a community.
