Introduction to calculus
Mercury takes a little more than 58 days to
complete its rotation, so try to imagine how
long days must be there! Since the
temperatures are so extreme, albeit not as
extreme as on Venus, Mercury has been
deemed to be non-habitable for humans
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and
the smallest one in the entire Solar System.
Contrary to popular belief, this planet's name
has nothing to do with the liquid metal.
Mercury was, instead, named after the
famous Roman messenger god Mercurius

Do you know what helps you make your point
crystal clear? Lists like this one:
● They’re simple
● You can organize your ideas clearly
● You’ll never forget to buy milk!
And the most important thing: the audience won’t
miss the point of your presentation

Solution
Exercise 2: solutions
Problem 01
Statement
Three kilograms of anchovies are worth €18. Write and represent
the function that defines the cost of the anchovies based on the
kilograms purchased
Solution
The ordinate to the origin is 0 because it equals 0 kg
The slope is 18/3=6
The line equation is y=6x
Problem 02
Statement
In the 10 first weeks of cultivation of a plant, which measured 2 cm,
it has been observed that its growth is directly proportional to time,
seeing that in the first week it has grown to measure 2.5 cm. Set up
a function so that gives the height per time of the plant
Solution
Initial height = 2 cm (ordinate at origin)
Weekly growth = 2,5-2 = 0,5 (slope)
The line equation is y=0,5x+2
