The Keynote Speaker – The SEC’s Senior Policy Advisor
Rick Bookstaber is Senior Policy Adviser at the SEC. He has worked at Bridgewater Associates, run the Quantitative
Equity Fund at FrontPoint Partners and was in charge of risk management at Moore Capital Management. In the
investment banking arena, he managed firm-wide risk at Salomon Brothers and was a member of Salomon's powerful
Risk Management Committee. He also spent ten years at Morgan Stanley, and was Fulbright Scholar and Visiting
Professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Bookstaber received a Ph.D. in economics from MIT.
In his address on future regulation of the financial services industry, Mr. Bookstaber will pinpoint issues related to high
frequency trading, the May 6th market drop and market volatility.
