Dear Colleague,
Welcome to Buy-Side Tech: Global Equities Trading Forum, World Research Group’s annual conference on equities
trading and trading technology! As Buy-Side Tech continues its evolution, this year’s event not only moves beyond
quantitative strategies to address the full spectrum of issues facing the Buy-Side professional, but expands the
breadth of its agenda to include topics of global significance.
The Agenda
October's comprehensive program convenes over 50 c-level speakers from hedge funds, investment banks, and asset
management firms to share best approaches for optimizing trading strategies, mitigating trading expenses,
diminishing risk, and targeting pools of maximum liquidity, domestically and abroad. 2010's enhanced agenda also
lasers in on leading-edge topics including equity-options, equity-ETFS, high frequency trading, system architecture
optimization, advanced algo trading- and MUCH MORE!
The Keynote Speaker – The SEC’s Senior Policy Advisor
Rick Bookstaber is Senior Policy Adviser at the SEC. He has worked at Bridgewater Associates, run the Quantitative
Equity Fund at FrontPoint Partners and was in charge of risk management at Moore Capital Management. In the
investment banking arena, he managed firm-wide risk at Salomon Brothers and was a member of Salomon's powerful
Risk Management Committee. He also spent ten years at Morgan Stanley, and was Fulbright Scholar and Visiting
Professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Bookstaber received a Ph.D. in economics from MIT.
In his address on future regulation of the financial services industry, Mr. Bookstaber will pinpoint issues related to high
frequency trading, the May 6th market drop and market volatility.
10+ Networking Activities with 150+ Buy-Siders
The conference is designed to achieve a balance of delivering high quality content together with networking activities
for the exchange of ideas and best practices. Strategic networking activities include our Buy-Siders’ Before the Bell
Forum, the Buy Siders’ Club Cocktail Reception, the Buy Side-Sell Side Wrap-Up Meeting, Networking Breakfasts and
Luncheons, Speed Networking Breaks, as well as strategic breaks throughout both days.
We look forward to greeting you in New York in October.
Best,

I really enjoyed being there and I
met a lot of people that I knew

  • 2. Dear Colleague, Welcome to Buy-Side Tech: Global Equities Trading Forum, World Research Group’s annual conference on equities trading and trading technology! As Buy-Side Tech continues its evolution, this year’s event not only moves beyond quantitative strategies to address the full spectrum of issues facing the Buy-Side professional, but expands the breadth of its agenda to include topics of global significance. The Agenda October's comprehensive program convenes over 50 c-level speakers from hedge funds, investment banks, and asset management firms to share best approaches for optimizing trading strategies, mitigating trading expenses, diminishing risk, and targeting pools of maximum liquidity, domestically and abroad. 2010's enhanced agenda also lasers in on leading-edge topics including equity-options, equity-ETFS, high frequency trading, system architecture optimization, advanced algo trading- and MUCH MORE! The Keynote Speaker – The SEC’s Senior Policy Advisor Rick Bookstaber is Senior Policy Adviser at the SEC. He has worked at Bridgewater Associates, run the Quantitative Equity Fund at FrontPoint Partners and was in charge of risk management at Moore Capital Management. In the investment banking arena, he managed firm-wide risk at Salomon Brothers and was a member of Salomon's powerful Risk Management Committee. He also spent ten years at Morgan Stanley, and was Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Bookstaber received a Ph.D. in economics from MIT. In his address on future regulation of the financial services industry, Mr. Bookstaber will pinpoint issues related to high frequency trading, the May 6th market drop and market volatility. 10+ Networking Activities with 150+ Buy-Siders The conference is designed to achieve a balance of delivering high quality content together with networking activities for the exchange of ideas and best practices. Strategic networking activities include our Buy-Siders’ Before the Bell Forum, the Buy Siders’ Club Cocktail Reception, the Buy Side-Sell Side Wrap-Up Meeting, Networking Breakfasts and Luncheons, Speed Networking Breaks, as well as strategic breaks throughout both days. We look forward to greeting you in New York in October.
