Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Standar ini disusun sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan jaminan mutu (quality assurance)
pakan konsentrat ayam ras pedaging yang beredar yang mutunya sangat mempengaruhi
produktivitas ayam ras pedaging.
Standar ini disusun oleh Subpanitia Teknis (SPT) 67-03-S2 Pakan Ternak dengan
memperhatikan ketentuan dalam:
a. Peraturan Pemerintah No.102 Tahun 2000 tentang Standardisasi Nasional;
b. Keputusan Menteri Pertanian No.58/Kpts/OT.140/8/2007 tentang Pelaksanaan
Standardisasi Nasional di Bidang Pertanian.
Standar ini telah dibahas dalam rapat teknis dan terakhir disepakati dalam rapat konsensus
Subpanitia Teknis (SPT) 67-03-S2 Pakan Ternak di Bogor pada tanggal 28 Oktober 2008.
Standar ini telah melalui proses jajak pendapat pada tanggal 10 Februari 2009 sampai
dengan 10 April 2009 dengan hasil akhir RASNI.

4 Klasifikasi
Mutu pakan konsentrat ayam ras pedaging didasarkan atas kandungan nutrisi dan ada
tidaknya zat atau bahan lain yang tidak diinginkan serta digolongkan dalam 1 (satu)
tingkatan mutu.
5 Persyaratan mutu
5.1 Bahan pakan
Bahan pakan yang digunakan harus menjamin kesehatan dan ketentraman masyarakat.
Kandungan residu dan zat kimia yang membahayakan dalam bahan pakan harus sesuai
dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.
5.2 Bahan imbuhan dan pelengkap pakan
Jenis bahan imbuhan dan pelengkap pakan yang terdapat dalam pakan konsentrat harus
sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.
5.3 Pakan konsentrat

6 Pengambilan contoh dan analisis
6.1 Pengambilan contoh
Pengambilan contoh dilakukan oleh pengawas mutu pakan atau petugas pengambil contoh.
6.2 Cara pengambilan contoh
Metode pengambilan contoh sesuai dengan SNI 19-0428-1998.
6.3 Analisis
6.3.1 Analisis kadar air, abu, protein, lemak dan serat kasar dilakukan dengan metoda
yang sudah ditetapkan menurut SNI 01-2891-1992.
6.3.2 Analisis energi metabolis dilakukan dengan metoda koleksi total (Farrel, D.J 1978).
6.3.3 Analisis asam amino total, kalsium dan fosfor total dilakukan dengan metoda yang
sudah ditetapkan oleh AOAC 2005, AOAC Official Methods Chapter 4 Animal Feed.
6.3.4 Analisis nilai fosfor tersedia dilakukan dengan uji biologis (Garcia dkk, 2006 atau
Ketaren dkk.,1998).
6.3.5 Analisis aflatoksin dilakukan dengan metoda yang sudah ditetapkan oleh AOAC
2005, AOAC Official Methods Chapter 49 Natural Toxins.
6.3.6 Analisis fisik dilakukan apabila ada keraguan tentang adanya bahan lain yang tidak
diinginkan di dalam konsentrat dengan metoda mikroskopi (Khajarern dan Khajarern, 1999).
7 Penandaan dan pengemasan
7.1 Penandaan
Konsentrat yang diedarkan telah melalui proses sertifikasi dengan dilengkapi etiket/label
yang mencantumkan:
a). nama atau merek pakan konsentrat;
b). nama dan alamat perusahaan/pembuat;
c). jenis dan kode pakan konsentrat;
d). nomor pendaftaran;

e). kode dan tanggal produksi;

f). kadar air;
g). kadar protein kasar;
h). kadar lemak kasar;
i). kadar serat kasar ;
j). kadar abu;
k). kadar kalsium;
l). kadar fosfor total;
m). cara penggunaan pakan konsentrat;
n). bahan baku penyusun pakan konsentrat;
o). warna dasar etiket biru muda dengan kode pengenal KBR.
7.2 Pengemasan
Pakan konsentrat dikemas menggunakan bahan yang tidak toksik dan tidak menurunkan
mutu dan daya simpan pakan. Dikemas dalam ukuran 5 kg sampai 100 kg dengan
mencantumkan berat bersih pada kemasan.
