2. Indications for making a bridge type
prosthesis
Bridge type prosthesis is used in case of 1 or more dental defects in a row of teeth
♥ Bridge type prothesis have 2 functions: Therapeutic and prophylactic
♥ Bridge type prosthesis, as a treatment, must meet the needs of toxicology,
equipment aesthetics, hygiene and function. The requirements of toxicology are:
the use of materials that have anticorrosive properties, at the same time is non-
toxic, does not cause allergies, does not irritate the oral mucosa, does not react
with saliva and does not change its composition.

3. ♥ Construction of bridge type should be strong
♥ important requirement- Aesthetic result. Should not change the shape of
the face
.

4. Contraindications to making a bridge prosthesis
:
▼ Bridge prosthesis can not be done
on periodontal, crooked and on the
teeth which are located out of the
arch. It is also not possible to repair
large defects of the dentition with
bridge type prostheses, because the
abutment teeth can not withstand
such a load, adhesive force of
chewing on abutment teeth should
be more or equal of adhesive force of
missing teeth.

5. • Teeth that have lost their antagonist have moved vertically, and teeth
that no longer have a neighboring tooth next to them - will move in the
direction of the missing tooth.

6. Bridge type prothesis
Advantages :
• It occupies little space and is within the
row of teeth in the area of the defect
• with the size and shape it approaches the

cavity.
•A well-made and precisely fitted bridge
prosthesis does not require any correction
after attachment to the abutment teeth
•Sessions for the patient to come to the
clinic to do it are less than in a case of
removable prosthesis

preparation and others are not difficult
Disadvantages
Preparation of intact teeth, preparation
