Bonfire Night is celebrated in England on November 5th. It commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. During Bonfire Night, people light bonfires, set off fireworks, and eat food. At Sherwell Valley Primary School in Torquay, England, they typically celebrate by building bonfires and firework displays.
