An email bomb is a denial of service attack that overflows an email mailbox and overwhelms a mail server by sending a massive volume of emails to a target address. To carry out an email bomb, one logs into their email account online, creates a label to identify the attack emails, and sets up a filter to automatically discard or mark as spam all messages with that label to mitigate the effects.
