features. Key examples are KTN’s Inside Story/Jicho Pevu,
Case Files.

procurement and equipment needs.

recorded)
▪ Studio set up (lights and sound)
▪ Live links from the field using b-gan,QuickLink Live and fairly
comfortable with editing and sending footage using various
online utilities.
HIGHLIGHTS
2
- 2013 Westgate Mall Siege – I was one of the few
cameramen on the scene as I was around the area. I
covered the incident for the next 36hrs straight.
- 2014 World Cup in Brazil (rio de janeiro, sao paulo, belo
horizonte). We were a team of three (KTN reporter,
Standard newspaper reporter and I) Took video and stills
shots for both and did live links for the KTN bulletins
throughout the period. Our coverage lasted the entire
month.
- Covered KDF’s foray into Somalia, went to Kismayo and
afmadow. This assignment is the highlight of my career
given the nature of circumstances. Kenya was invading
another country and I was tagging along to cover the story.
Not to mention the immense risks involved in the
assignment, Somalia was hostile territory.
- Covered the Sudan referendum and the subsequent birth of
the world’s newest nation, South Sudan.
- Inside story / Jicho pevu – I’ve covered many investigative
pieces but one that covered kenya’s porous borders remains
the highlight in the series.
- The yearly AU Summit since 2010, this was before the Arab
spring and the presence of Gaddafi and Mubarak was a
prominent feature of the occasion.
- 2013 TV election debate, manned one of the six cameras
inside the hall.
- Kiambaa church arson that now symbolizes the heights of
the tragedy the 2007-2008 post election violence brought
upon the country. I was the only cameraman with access to
cover the story. CNN covered the story and interviewed me
as key witness
