Emanuel Surunis is currently a senior mechanical and aerospace Engineer at Case Western
Reserve University. He grew up in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. In his time at Case he has participated in
the fraternity Phi Delta Theta, varsity football, SMARRT (Students Meet About Risk and Responsibility
Training), and Design Build Fly Club. Emanuel interned for two years at Ruthrauff Sauer as a mechanical
engineer. There he developed skills in drafting and design. He did work with estimation and energy
calculations. He then participated in a co-op at Philips Healthcare. There he managed engineering
change orders for RoHS (restriction of hazardous substances) and iCT product Remediation. He also
contacted suppliers to ensure proper product certification and acquire documentation for remediation.
He designed and updated mechanical parts using ProE and I-DEAS software. Lastly, he created detailed
reports from data gathered using SAP and Agile project management software. When Emanuel was not
interning and participating in a co-op he worked for Weatherhead School of Management as a student
audio visual technician. He made significant contributions to his fraternity as an executive member. He
served a term as the fraternity secretary and participated in judicial board meetings. Emanuel has
experience in design through school and work experience. He has skills in numerous computer modeling
programs. He works well with a group and has great organizational and communication skills. Emanuel is
currently working part time at Orbital Research in order to hone his skills in the aerospace industry. He
will co-op there beginning summer of 2015.
