This document outlines the content and schedule for a biology class at Colegio Las Cumbres. It is divided into three parts over three trimesters. The first trimester covers nutrition in humans, including movement of materials in and out of cells, human digestion and absorption, pathogens and defenses. Students will do lab work on osmosis in potato strips. The second trimester focuses on transport systems, including circulation, the heart, blood vessels, blood composition and the excretory system. The third trimester addresses maintenance of organisms, covering the nervous system, homeostasis, temperature regulation, and lab work on insulation.
