People often 'appear' to act irrationally, and are often biased by their own environment, or by what we do as product designers. We should beware jumping to our default tools with their default settings. We should beware using the same old patterns (or anti-patterns) and consider whether they really help us build what users need. We should be driving our tools, not letting our tools drive us. Some examples will show how the tools, patterns, and processes that we use ultimately impact users, and how despite our best intentions, people will use our products in different and sometimes unexpected ways.
