A new study found that the number of people living alone in Spain has increased dramatically in recent decades. In 1991, only 14% of Spanish households consisted of a single person, but by 2011 that number had grown to 27% of households. Experts attribute this rise in solitary living to longer life expectancies and more mobility among younger generations.
