These form tips are IMPERATIVE to follow for a successful bench. Are you tired of feeling weak during
your bench? Do you think you should be benching more? Are you confused why someone smaller than
you is lifting more weight than you are?
What Is Bench Press Bar
They probably aren't on steroids, they just have better form than you. Let's change that.
Parallel forearms - Keep your forearms parallel to the ground at all times. Obviously there will be
fluctuations (minor) but the idea behind this concept is that you want to generate UPWARD force
pushing the weight. If your forearms are too wide or too narrow, you are taking away from the upward
force, and severely hindering your ability for a strong bench press.
Touch bar at lower chest - I cannot tell you how many bench pressers drop the bar either too high or too
low. Depending on your body size, you should be dropping the bar a little below your nipples. This keeps
you in the 'power zone' and again, allows for a strong bench press.
Bar speed - Too many lifters act like maniacs and throw the bar around as fast as possible. Depending on
your training goals, this many be good. However, it is ideal to move the weight both up and down in a
controlled manner.
If you are not implementing these 3 form tips right now, I can guarantee your bench press will increase
(after you become accustomed to the new form) at least 10 pounds. Guaranteed.
