Research can be metaphorically understood as a magnifier that allows individuals to focus closely on specific parts of an object of interest, eliminating irrelevant areas to avoid confusion. Research can also be seen as the color gray, which is between black and white and contains aspects of both, similar to how research aims to confirm or reject hypotheses without predetermined expectations of outcomes. Research provides a tool to closely examine things and see them more clearly while avoiding assumptions.

2. • If Research were a thing, it would be a
magnifier. It’s a tool that lets an individual
focus on a specific part of the whole object
that you are interested in. This is also a type
of tool that enables people observe a thing
more closely to eliminate all areas irrelevant,
thus helps avoid confusion.

3. • If Research were a color, it would be gray. I
chose this because it is a color that is in
between black and white, and also a touch of
both of the two. Gray can be compared to
research in such a way that confirming or
rejecting a hypothesis is always possible.
This color also indicates that there is a ‘blur,’
with which one is thirsting to examine without
any anticipation of what to find out.
