A survey from 1998 found that 53% of Americans were consuming artificial sweeteners, while studies and organizations have had varying stances on the safety and effectiveness of artificial sweeteners. While some research indicates they may not be safe or effective for weight control, moderate consumption is presented as an option after first cutting back on sugar or substituting it naturally. Contact information is provided for further discussion.

Factors associated with wetland participationRick Welsh
This document summarizes a study examining factors that influence the valuation of wetland preservation. The study surveyed landowners participating in wetland restoration projects through public-private partnerships and neighboring landowners in northern New York. It found that renting land for hunting rights decreased valuation of wetland preservation, while viewing wildlife and membership in environmental groups increased valuation. Valuation was not simply determined by participation in restoration programs, but also how the land was used and demographic characteristics. The researchers will incorporate additional data on property values, biodiversity, and water quality in future analyses.
The document summarizes Turkey's growing paper, cardboard, and corrugated board sector and its importance regionally. It notes that while growth has slowed in Western Europe, Turkey is experiencing economic and cultural growth that is increasing paper and packaging expenditures. Turkey ranks 25th globally in paper production, 18th in consumption, and 58th in per capita spending, demonstrating potential for sector growth. Its strategic geographic location also positions it to build economic ties across over 600 million people. The upcoming "IPT Istanbul 2013 3rd Paper - Carton Working Machinery, Paper Based Packaging Technologies Fair and Congresses" aims to showcase the latest technologies to local and international professionals in the sector and enable discussion on industry topics.

Turkey's machinery and accessories export to Kazakhstan totaled $96.5 million in 2011, a 22% increase while Kazakhstan's overall machinery import fell. Kazakhstan, with an area 3.5 times larger than Turkey, has abundant oil and natural gas reserves and its economy depends heavily on oil exports. Strategic partners Russia and China are major partners of Kazakhstan and China has become its leading partner in recent years especially in energy. Turkey broke records exporting foundry machinery to Kazakhstan, with exports totaling $97 million in 2011, led by $14 million in seed processing machines and $10 million in refrigeration equipment.
Seniz Machinery was founded in 1980 and has 30 years of experience operating out of an 800 square meter facility. The company prioritizes quality and customer satisfaction, producing high-quality timber, furniture, and carpentry machines using quality materials and providing after-sales support. Their products include timber and furniture machinery, carpenter machines, fully automatic timber trucks, and paving machines.
The meeting between representatives from the Turkish Cement Producers' Association and the Machinery and Accessories Exporters Union aimed to reduce foreign dependence and increase domestic contributions for the cement and machinery sectors. Key issues discussed included the sectors' performance in the first half of the year, export/import ratios, and how to encourage the cement sector to use domestically produced machinery. It was agreed that the two sectors would collaborate to address the problem of high machinery imports by the cement industry, with the goal of winning market share from imports by demonstrating locally made machinery can meet quality standards.
The Industrial Development Bureau in Taiwan announced a project to support the local machine industry through developing smart design and manufacturing capabilities. The goal is to increase the industry's revenue to NT$255 billion by 2020. The project will utilize ICT and focus on addressing user needs, as well as providing turnkey planning services to help companies build sales. Taiwan was the world's 4th largest machine exporter in 2011, though sales services only accounted for 3% of the industry's NT$155 billion in revenue that year. The bureau aims to increase sales services to 20% of total revenue and have smart machines comprise 30% of total output by 2020.
The Taiwan Machine Tool Show (TMTS) was held from November 7-11, 2012 in Taichung, Taiwan. The show featured over 1,300 booths showcasing metal cutting machines, metal forming machines, tube and wire processing machines, as well as components, tools, and automation equipment. Over 300 exhibitors from 12 countries participated, including 251 local Taiwanese exhibitors and 28 international exhibitors. A total of 51,025 visitors from 41 countries attended the show.
TÜBİTAK funds research and development projects through its 1511 program to support plans in priority areas like energy, food, automotive, IT, and manufacturing. The program aims to increase technological skills, take advantage of existing capabilities, and develop new technologies. Calls are issued according to sector needs. The first call was in the energy sector and focused on solar energy, energy storage, energy efficiency, and coal technologies. The goal is to support goal-oriented R&D plans that produce new or improved products and raise quality standards.
In today's globally integrated economy, industrial equipment firms must collaborate more than ever, both with customers as strategic partners and even former competitors, in order to develop new methods for remaining competitive and protecting their advantages. Product lifecycle management solutions enable collaboration across design groups and systems to help industrial equipment companies effectively meet customer needs. Sustainable innovation is crucial for survival in this environment where consolidation is a common growth strategy, and implementing a PLM strategic business approach can help achieve business benefits.
The document discusses computer numerical control (CNC) machinery. It notes that as machine tools have become more complex, new approaches like numerical control (NC) have allowed machines to surpass human capabilities. Most modern machines are controlled by computers using computer numerical control (CNC). CNC machines have many advantages over traditional machining methods, including precise, fast positioning without stopping between motions, as well as the ability to machine continuously for long periods without tiring or making mistakes.
