Perturbed by the hoards of garbage in the area around their school, students of Behbud Secondary School, Kalapul in Karachi launched a campaign to clean their school and the surrounding community. They contacted the municipality corporation along with involving members of the community in an anti-littering drive, encouraging people to ‘clean up their act’!

The walls were whitewashed and the children pitched in by decorating their classroom to make it a pleasant learning environment.

Students of Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust in Lahore observed the absence of soaps in their school’s toilets prompting them to come up with a system to ensure that soaps placed there would remain there for the benefit of the student body. They also visited five other schools to raise awareness about the importance of hygiene and share this supervisory system with them.

Concerned about a lack of understanding regarding the importance of cleanliness, schoolchildren in DIL Junior School 4, Orangi, Karachi conducted an awareness program focusing particularly on personal hygiene. Through the use of visual aids, they demonstrated positive handwashing and other cleanliness practices as well as guidelines for how to dispose of garbage appropriately, thus making people much more aware of how to keep themselves and their surroundings cleaner too.

Students of Generation's School in Karachi decided to help improve the lives of children admitted at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT). They appealed to their peers to donate towards making goodie bags which could be given to those children. Students then visited SIUT and personally distributed the bags, thereby bringing smiles to the children’s faces!
