This document discusses beamforming technology which allows a transmitter such as an antenna or access point to focus its energy in a certain direction. By focusing energy in a direction, beamforming can transmit signals to specific users while reducing unwanted signals to other users at different locations. It achieves this by coordinating the phase and amplitude of the signal across different antenna elements to effectively steer the beam towards the intended receiver.
