He warns against greed and covetousness, saying one's life is not defined by material possessions. Jesus then tells a parable about a rich man with a bountiful harvest who plans to expand his barns to store more. Thinking he is set for life, the man brags about relaxing, but God says the man is a fool for not being rich toward God, as he dies that night. The parable teaches that true riches are not material but spiritual.

Grandpa tells David a story from the Bible about a selfish rich farmer named Mr. Richie who had a bountiful harvest but refused to share any of his grain with poor workers, even though he had more than his barns could hold. That night, God took Mr. Richie's life because he was greedy and selfish. The next day, David decides to share his toys with his friend Tommy so they can play together, and realizes that giving makes people happy and is more fun than not sharing.
Similarities Between Jesus and Paul
This document compares the missions of Jesus and Paul based on six criteria: receiving the power of the Holy Spirit at the beginning of their ministries, confronting and overcoming demonic powers, preaching about scripture's fulfillment in Jesus, an initial positive response, and rejection by their countrymen. Both Jesus and Paul displayed these similarities in their missions according to the biblical passages cited.
