James 5:7-10
James 5: 7-10
• v7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of
the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the
precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for
it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
• v8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the
coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
• v9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye
be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the
door.
• v10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have
spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of
suffering affliction, and of patience.
I. CHRIST WILL COME UNEXPECTEDLY, SINCE
THE TIME CANNOT BE CALCULATED
• MATTHEW 24:36-44
• v36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man,
no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
• v37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also
the coming of the Son of man be.
• v38 For as in the days that were before the flood
they were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that Noah
entered into the ark,
•v43 But know this, that if the
goodman of the house had known in
what watch the thief would come, he
would have watched, and would not
have suffered his house to be broken
up.
•v44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in
such an hour as ye think not the Son of
man cometh.
A.) LET'S INCREASE OUR
MEDITATION TO THE LORD
Luke 21: 34-35
• v34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at
any time your hearts be overcharged with
surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of
this life, and so that day come upon you
unawares.
• v35 For as a snare shall it come on all them
that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
B.) LET'S INCREASE OUR
DEVOTION TO THE LORD
Luke 21: 36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye
may be accounted worthy to escape all these
things that shall come to pass, and to stand
before the Son of man.
C.) LET'S INCREASE OUR
RELATIONSHIP TO OUR LORD JESUS
Luke 21:37-38
• v37And in the day time he was teaching in the
temple; and at night he went out, and abode in
the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
• v38And all the people came early in the morning
to him in the temple, for to hear him.
II. BELIEVER'S MUST BE PREPARED &
WAIT CONSTANTLY FOR THIS
IMMINENT EVENT
Matthew 24: 42 & 44
• v42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour
your Lord doth come.
• v44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour
as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
A.) MAKE OUR SELF BUSY ON THE
CHURCH'S ACTIVITY
