We must think differently by preparing our minds for action and concentration without distraction, being self-controlled in our thoughts and eliminating distractions, and keeping our hope fixed on Jesus' return. We must also live obediently, choosing to do what is right with the innocent and simple faith of children, without needing explanations.

Intro We must think differently (vs.13) Thinking differently involves preparing our minds for action so our concentration will not be broken - “gird up your loins .” Thinking differently also includes to “ be sober ” or self controlled - not only what we concentrate on but also what we eliminate from our life that distracts us from our sole focus. Thinking differently includes the expectation of Jesus’ return - “ fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

3. We must choose to live obediently (vs.14) “ obedient children ” Obedient - choosing to do what is right. Children - innocence of simple faith that does not get caught up with a need for explanations.
