• He worked in his parent’s pub kitchen when
young.
• At age 16, he left school and went to a Catering
college
• He later work as a pastry chef at a restaurant
before moving on to the river café and get
spotted by the BBC.
• He was 21 when he started his first show “The
Naked Chef” and his first best-selling cookbook.

• He became famous overnight

• In 2002, he started Fifteen (a non-profit restaurant)
that provides training to youths with a disadvantaged
background, criminal record or history of drug abuse.
• He then changed focused to school kids and the food
in the school canteens

• He wanted to change the food the canteens were
serving (junk food)

• He started a campaign “Feed Me Better” to
encourage schoolchildren to eat healthy food.

• He had a TV show on it and it was famous (Jamie’s
School Dinners)
• He then had another TV show “Jamie’s Ministry of
Food” where he goes to Rotherham to cook healthy
meals
• Another TV show “Jamie Oliver’s Food
Revolution”, he travelled to parts of America to
change the way they eat
• In 2008, he started Jamie’s Italian
Impact of Jamie’s Adventures
• In 2003, he was awarded an MBE from the Queen
• In 2005, his venture with the school canteens
made the British government to use 1 billion
dollars to the school food system and place a ban
on junk food in all UK schools

• He was being voted as the “Most Inspiring
Political Figure of 2005” by Channel 4 News
Impact of Jamie’s Adventures
• In 2010, he started a new high school
qualification called “Jamie’s Home Cooking
Skills” which teaches practical cooking skills and
fundamental food knowledge.
• He was also awarded the TED prize for his
education of food, inspiration for families to
change eating habits and fight against obesity.
• He now plans to end the obesity crisis in America
