This document is a Life Group study guide about baptism. It discusses that baptism is essential for salvation and connects people to God and each other. Key points made include that baptism brings forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. The guide examines examples of baptism in the New Testament like after Peter's first sermon and the conversions of Saul and the Ethiopian. It also explores baptism as a picture of clothing, death and resurrection, new birth, Noah's ark, and washing.
Fellowship is important to understand since it describes the special relationship all Christians have with God and with one another. We share things together that most of the world does not and that common sharing allows us to find our true destiny and weather the storms of life in the good ship Fellowship.
The Difficult Doctrine of The Love of God (Sermon 7.28.19)hyped4jesus
This is week 1 of 2 where we are looking closely at the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16. Examined closely, however, this verse exposes us to the concepts of God's Love, God's Wrath, God's Holiness, God's Justice, the seriousness of sin and . . . well, in a word, the wonderful gift of God's Grace in providing to all people the Good News, The Gospel!
The greatest love of all is God's unconditional love for us. He demonstrated this love by sending His Son Jesus Christ into the world, who died for us on the Cross and rose up again, making it possible for us to be adopted into God's family as sons and daughters. Will you embrace God's love for you?

As I Have Served You - John Lusk 1-15-2017DenverCoC
This is the first in a three part series of lessons on the theme of, "As I Have Loved You." Each week we will examine a different dimension of how Jesus loved his disciples and how he has loved us. This first lesson will be a refreshing look at how Jesus came to serve his followers.
God’s Word is a great treasure. It has been given to us to help us through our lives. Using 2 Timothy 3.16, Paul reminds us that the word of God is profitable for us because it identifies the path, shows us when we are off of the path, helps us to return to the path and helps us to know how to stay on the path.
Demas is remember as one who forsook Paul because he loved this world. We may fall into this trap if we try to excuse ourselves as being too busy, or we hold too tightly to our riches, or we seek our own pleasure. We can overcome this temptation by remembering where our treasure is, by seeking things that are above, by not being conformed to the world and by remembering that Jesus has promised us an abundant life.
The Church in the New Testament: Its Form, Function and PurposeJim Wright
"Church" as we've come to know it looks nothing like what we see in the New Testament. We can either look to Scripture to define what it means to be the church, or to vain human traditions.

“The Lord’s church in an 'Experience Driven Culture'” - [John 6:60-69] - As churches decline in membership, they begin to compromise to sustain numbers - Many churches have adopted the "market driven" approach – i.e., Find out what people want and give it to them - WHAT EVER THAT IS! — Many churches of Christ are dondoinge the same things! Can the church fight apathy and materialism by feeding people's carnal appetites? Has the word of God lost it’s power & effectiveness? What should the churches response be to the populace and its increasing hunger for an “experience” & disinterest in the truth? - MP3 / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF - 5/17/2015

LIFE GROUP GUIDE
Part I: Opening
1. Briefly have each on share with the group when they
were baptized and what led you to that decision.
2. Memorize together (Acts 2:38-39)
Part 2: Connected to God through Baptism
Q: Why do you think God used baptism as the way to
forgive our sins and connect us to him and to each other in
the church?
Q: Why do you think there is so much confusion among so
many regarding immersion baptism today? How can we
make the message about baptism in the New Testament
clearer to our confused world?
Q: What is the importance to the fact that Jesus
commanded everyone to be baptized?
Q: What does Peter mean when he says baptism is for the
forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Part 3: Examples of Baptism in the New Testament
Q: What are some things that struck you as you we
examined all the examples of baptism from Acts today?
Q: Read Acts 8:36-38 and what are some significant
points you take away from this story?
Q: Read Acts 9:1-19. What does this story of Saul’s
conversion tell you about a what person needs to do even
after they have had a dramatic encounter with Jesus?
Q: If someone tells you they recited the “sinner’s prayer”
and became a Christian, how would you respond?
Part 4: Pictures of Baptism in the New Testament
Q: What are some important points we learn about
equality and inheritance from the clothing of baptism?
Q: Explain how baptism identifies us with the death, burial,
and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Q: What is the great promise seen in the picture of baptism
as new life?
Q: Explain how baptism is a picture of birth.
Q: How does Peter connect baptism to Noah’s ark?
Q: Why does Titus compare baptism to a washing?
Reflection
1. Think about what it cost Jesus to connect us to God
and to each other.
2. Have I put my faith in Christ but not obeyed his
command to be immersed?
3. Was my baptism into Christ my decision or a decision
made by my parents for me when I was a child?
