2. RECORDING GROUP WILL REFER TO A GROUP
OR AN INDIVIDUAL ARTIST. THEY BE
INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF MUSIC INCLUDING
ROCK, POP, FOLK, COUNTRY, JAZZ, R&B, RAP,
OR CLASSICAL. MANY GROUPS START OUT AS
BAR BANDS, PERFORMING IN SMALL VENUES
LIKE LOUNGES. OTHERS BEGIN THEIR
CAREERS BY WRITING MUSIC AND
RECORDING NOTHING MORE BUT DEMOS. A
GROUP GENERALLY DOES NOT HAVE ANY
REASON TO RECORD UNTIL THEY SIGN A
RECORDING CONTRACT.
Band / Recording Group
3. The Salary is based on how well
the group or person is liked. But
the money earned must be divided
within the group, producer, etc.
4. This type of field you don’t have to
have an education. However many
of the people involved in a music
group do attend a music school or
independent vocal/instrument
lessons.
5. Location of job depends on many
aspects. You could be in the
recording studio or could be
traveling the world. All this
depends on how well known you
are or how well liked you are. This
type of job can be a full time or
part time job (it varies).
6. Benefits would be the money you
could possibly earn. Also you are
doing something you enjoying doing.
You might also impact a life/lives.
7. Drawbacks would be everything
depends on how well liked you are
or become. You might lose interest
in time or you might lose your
ability that you once might had.
This isn’t a 100% chance of
becoming what you dream to do.
It’s a 1 in a million chance.

9. Songwriter
A Songwriter writes songs. This
includes penning lyrics, coming up
the melody or both. Songwriting is a
career.
11. You do not have to have a
education for this field. However
many do attend a music school or
have lessons. They might take a
class in college or high school over
music theory as well as an option.
Most have majors in English in
college.
12. Location: You can be located
anywhere. It just requires time to
send them off. However many live
in big music places such as
Nashville, etc.
13. Benefits: You can work whenever
you want or need the money (work
on own leisure). You also get to
work with many other people if
you choose to collaborate.
14. Drawbacks: Most publishers don't
have the time or the resources to
listen to truckloads of tapes and
cds to find quality songs. Chances
also are 1 in 100.

Songwriter(s) are sometimes
working at both. This is where my
interested comes into play; I am
interested in these fields.
